Blues 4 All attended the Preston home game with members from the Alum Rock Football Academy.
A number of Blues fan groups and supporters came together to welcome the coaches, parents and children that attended this fixture. This was the first ever Blues fixture for the majority of the group since signing up to the clubs popular ticket incentive scheme.
Blues 4 All organised the meet and greet before the match and demonstrated our support to the Fans for Diversity Campaign.
The Academy formed in 2013 and provides football coaching every Saturday morning at the Rockwood Academy in Birmingham.
“This visit has been in the planning for some time and was our first match at St. Andrews since signing up to the Blues Ticket Incentive Scheme. Apart from the bad result, the visit to St. Andrew’s was a great success. All the parents and children were overwhelmed by the welcome we received from the various Blues supporters groups and fans. This will hopefully encourage more families from our academy and our local community to attend more games this season” said Mohammed Shaffiq – Head Coach and Founder of Alum Rock Football Academy
Ten year old Mohammed Owais enjoyed the day. “I loved my first experience of a match in a stadium, it was so loud when we scored. I do want to come again.”
Blues 4 All and the coaches from the Alum Rock Football Academy would like to thank Cliff Horrocks (Blues Trust), Birmingham City Football Club, BCFC fan groups, The Blue Lagoon and the Kids Need Both Parents Charity for their kind support.
